Save the Whale Sharks

Whale sharks are the world's largest fish, and have been known to reach lengths of up to 60 feet. They consume mainly plankton and small fish. Some whale sharks have been known to live up to 150 years, and generally inhabit warm, tropical waters. The distribution of whale sharks can be an indicator of the presence of plankton and provides information about the general health of the ocean. 

Whale sharks are listed as endangered by the IUCN. Unregulated fishing and demand for whale sharks on the international market threatens the lives of these animals. Whale sharks also frequently fall victim to bycatch (accidental capture in fishing gear).
